Kris is the founder and director of Turning Tides Transitions LLC, a customized and supportive aftercare planning program in the suburban Philadelphia area. She has over 23 years of clinical experience. Turning Tides Transitions utilizes her experience as a clinician, an educator and certified guidance counselor to ensure client’s success before, during and after treatment away from home. Her practice is limited to working with adolescents, young adults and their families when treatment has occurred or becomes necessary in wilderness therapy programs, therapeutic boarding schools, residential treatment facilities and/or inpatient drug and alcohol programs. She enhances her program through visiting and collaborating with treatment programs throughout the United Sates. Kris is active member of the National Board of Certified Counsellors (NBCC). She is a member of the Therapeutic Consulting Association (TCA), National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP). She earned her “Wilderness Therapy Certification" through a CRC/Aspen sponsored event in 2013.
Kris has been a volunteer, speaker and mentor with the Andrew L. Hicks Jr. Foundation (www.alhjr.org) since their inception in 2010. She also serves as a Board Member at Harbor of Hope, a non profit organization that is committed to making Mental Heath Services & Education accessible for all. She also speaks professionally, at seminars and trainings, on mental health and relationship issues. Kris worked as a Clinical/Therapeutic Consultant with Redwood Educational Services for 3 years. She has been part-time and adjunct faculty in counseling and psychology programs.
